Bugs Fixed
Adding a new label using the edit instance label window was not being properly displayed until the timeline was saved, closed and reopened.
Multiview hotkeys not setting correctly when CAPS lock was activated.
Label group data not being inserted after a code button was de-activated. The label was being inserted, but the group data was not.
Sorter window undo when only one row is in sorter using standard shortcuts COMMAND+Y
Push button command was not pushing the designated button correctly

New Features
Automatic full screen display resolution change when displaying movies full screen. This feature is in the application preferences in the Movies panel. Tick 'Adjust display resolution for full screen movies' if full screen movies do not play smoothly. This is common when displaying movies using the H.264 codec in full screen. This codec uses the CPU intensely, so this feature decreases the screen resolution which requires less processing, freeing up the CPU for the H.264 processing.
There will be a short transition when presenting the movie full screen. This is normal.
NBA Entertainment XML import. This import is used in conjunction with NBA Entertainment video downloaded from teamvideo.nba.com
Final Cut Pro export added to File > Export menu. This export creates a XML for Final Cut Pro version 6. Select instances or rows of instances in a timeline, choose File > Export > Final Cut XML... Name the file for export and a folder will be created with the XML file inside. When imported into Final Cut, each instance is a clip ready for edit in the project. Text labels are also exported, so they can be searched and used in various ways.
Timer stat command added. The command converts the input in seconds to a timer string with a given precision. All time related commands work in seconds, so this helps to display those results in an easy to read format.

Format:
TIMER (seconds, precision)
Arguments:
seconds: the time in seconds to convert to hours:minutes:seconds
precision: the number of decimal places to show. A value <= 0 will show no decimal places
Example:
Timer (3601.123, 0) will return 1:00:01
Timer (3601.123, 2) will return 1:00:01.12

iTunes exports have been added in the File > Export > Movies menu.
iPod movie to iTunes...
This export saves the active movie as an iPod movie ready for iTunes. The files created by this process are temporarily stored in 'SportsCode iTunes temporary files   ' in the users 'Documents' folder.
When the files are created, they are launched and should be opened by the the default application which should be iTunes. iTunes will copy the file into its own directory if iTunes preferences are set to automatically import opened movies. Once the files are in iTunes, an iPod can be synched.
These temporary files created are kept in the temporary folder until SportsCode is restarted. The temporary folder is cleared of all files with the extension '.m4v'.
The movie creation procedure can be cancelled while in progress by clicking the cancel button or pressing escape.
Selected instances in each timeline row as an iPod movie to iTunes...
Like the iPod movie to iTunes export, this export sends movies to iTunes to be imported instead of using the active movie, this uses the active timeline. To use this feature, select groups of instances or rows of instances in a timeline, then choose this export option. An iPod movie named for each row will be exported to iTunes, all selected instances in that row will be included in the movie.
General Changes and Enhancements
Added Italian language support
Capture process updated to better cope with audio video sync problems. Over a long uninterrupted capture the audio and video tracks tend to drift. To help minimize the drift, the capture is broken up into smaller files. This process is not noticeable until the package is examined and the movie data files looked at.
The movie data is now captured into separate files with a specified maximum size. The sizes have to be specified before capturing begins. By default the size is 500MB for DV and 250MB for MPEG4. The default will be overwritten after the first capture is done using the software. Now when the new capture session is initiated, if a session with matching codec and vertical and horizontal dimensions has previously been done, the estimated data rate is retrieved from the preference file 'Capture codecs'.
Using this estimated data rate, new capture files are created about every 2 or 3 minutes which should stop sound drift.
While it is not essential to do this, a reasonable strategy for doing a synched capture would be to set up the video and sound capture preferences, then do a short capture of at least 15 seconds, stop capture, and then start the long capture.  The short capture gives the application a chance to store an estimated capture data rate for the specified capture conditions. This estimated data rate is used by the application to estimate a good size for the capture data files.
When a capture is initiated, 200 files are preallocated and ready to be filled with video and sound data. If the update button is used, the preallocated numbers are set to 50, and 20 if the update button is used more than 10 times. This is to make the update a little faster. If all the preallocated files are used, then the movie data is captured to the last data file in the list.
F1 made available for button hotkey, previously used for shortcut to unhide button hotkeys in the code window.
Added version 6 instance searching mechanisms to the movie organizer.
SHIFT+OPTION+COMMAND+V pastes selected instances to a movie organizer from all open timelines. OPTION+COMMAND+V pastes selected instances from the front most timeline only.
Movie organizer static text is larger by default and reduces it size according to how much text is required to be displayed.
Shift key and exclusive links. Previously the shift key could be held down to allow multiple exclusively linked buttons to be pressed down and this may have been causing a problem for a few users.  The 'fn' key replaces the shift key in this circumstance.
The SEND commands will send output to all open code windows. Previously it only sent to the front most window.
The measurement tools vertical scale and horizontal scale dialog appears on top of lines.
License registration modifications to help speed up the process globally.
Updated File menus.

Apple released Quicktime 7.5.5 this week.

Please hold off on updating your system until further notice. We cannot find any release notes except for those regarding security.

From the first look, it appears to be only security updates, but you never know what might have been slipped in there.

We believe that most of the updates are related to new Apple hardware. This update is required for iTunes 8.0 movies.
